Submarines traversing under the North Pole ice cap, combined with satellite photos give data to predict that the North Pole ice caps will be completely gone in as little as 4 - 5 years. This puts enormous pressure on Greenland.

Business as usual people will say...

"Don't worry, it will take a long time before the ice will melt, the ice is 3 - 4 km thick"

But what is happening is, as the ice is melting it is forming lakes and pools of water on top of the ice. Then it spills over into cracks going under the ice and BINGO, the whole ice mountain slides into the ocean like a slippery cube of ice. In Greenland, most of the ice is on land. It is estimated that Greenland's ice will make sea levels rise world wide by approximately 7 - 8 metres.
